NEW CD ALBUM
In recent years we have come to recognise the importance of keeping our repertoire fresh for audiences and choir members alike and
have selected music which is not commonly available in the UK. Yet it is familiar to all. We believe that we may be the only male voice
choir to have extended our repertoire in this way, though we do always include some traditional music in our concerts.
We have now recorded a new CD featuring 14 songs (click on thumbnail to right for listing) which we have introduced since we
recorded our "Let There be Music!" in 2007 and demonstrate the changes in our repertoire.
The title "Grace" is taken from the opening track which is sung to a different tune than the usual
"Amazing Grace". Other tracks include contemporary American songs such as "Over the Rainbow", "New York, New York", "Summertime" and
"The Wonder of You" which are not often sung by Male Voice choirs.
We have also continued our appreciation of the fine Welsh composer and arranger - Alwyn Humphreys (well known as the former
Conductor of the Morriston Orpheus Choir) by including no less than 5 of his songs on this CD. A copy was sent to him and in acknowledging
it he replied "I have listened to the latest Haydock MVC recording this morning and enjoyed it immensely. It is a lovely selection of music,
beautifully performed". Could we ask for a better commendation?
This CD is always available to purchase at our concerts and also by contacting our Sales Officer -
John Haresign - by email.
