With deep sadness, the death of one of our most supportive Vice Presidents, Wallace (Wally) Ashcroft. Wally helped Haydock A very great deal when he was a leader of one the political parties in St Helens Council and continued his support after losing his seat. He attended on two occasions when we visited the Royal Albert Hall and once to the Isle of Man. Wally, like Alan Herbert, was a larger-than- life character who enhanced the lives of those around him and brought great pleasure, wit and love to all who he met. He will be sorely missed. Our condolences have been sent to Nancy, his wife, (also a Vice President) and all of his family. RIP Wal.
