Last Saturday's concert in support of the Hargreaves Dementia Trust was a wonderful evening of music, song and entertainment, enjoyed by an audience of more than 200 people.

The concert showcased an amazing variety of musical talent, bringing together performers of all ages and creating a truly memorable occasion.

Haydock MVC opened the concert with a rousing rendition of Jesus Shall Reign, receiving thunderous applause from the audience and setting the tone for a wonderful evening of music. This was followed by the emotive and soulful Glory, Glory Hallelujah, where the choir’s rich harmonies and tonal quality really came to the fore. Both performances were warmly received by the audience.

Lancashire Artillery Band were outstanding, adding a spectacular dimension to the evening, while the young choirs provided some of its most enchanting moments. The youth choirs, St Bart's and the Sankey Singers, made up of children from primary and secondary schools, delighted the audience with their polished performances. St Bart's sang with confident three-part harmony, while the Warrington-based Sankey Singers impressed with songs performed in Welsh.

For parents and families, seeing their children and young people taking part in such a wonderful concert was clearly a very special experience. Their pride and enjoyment were evident throughout the evening.

Soloist Amelie Mack delivered a polished and professional performance, impressing the audience with her beautiful voice. She certainly saved something special for the finale, raising the roof with her rousing rendition of Rule Britannia!.

Behind it all were our talented musical directors, Nicole, Karen and Jane, together with Ruth, Joe, Rich and Nigel, who provided outstanding accompaniment. Their expertise and dedication brought together a diverse group of musicians and singers to create a truly special concert.

Above all, the evening demonstrated just how powerful music can be in bringing people together, from the youngest singers taking their first steps on stage to experienced performers entertaining a packed audience.

It was a memorable evening for everyone involved and a fitting way to support the Hargreaves Dementia Trust, whose work provides invaluable support to people living with dementia, as well as to the carers and families who support them.

We were honoured by the attendance of Deputy Lieutenant Dame Elaine Inglesby-Burke DBE and her husband, Dr Christopher Burke, the Worshipful Deputy Mayor, Councillor Victor Floyd and his Consort, and the many councillors who joined us in support of this very worthwhile event. We were also delighted to welcome the President of Haydock Male Voice Choir, Sue Richards.

A huge thank you! to everyone who performed, helped organise the concert, supported the event and, of course, to the audience who made the evening such a success.
